Here is a step by step guide on how upload your artwork on canva

STEP 1:

Start With the Correct Size

✅ What to Do:

→ Go to Canva

 

→ Create a Design

 

→ Custom Size


Enter the exact size we requested (for example: 5x7 inches, 8.5x11, etc.).

NOTE:
If the product is 5x7", make your total canvas 5.25x7.25" (an extra ⅛" on all sides).

→ Set units to inches (not pixels).


Tip:
Canva automatically exports at 96 DPI unless you scale up the size. Always create your design in the final print size, not smaller.

STEP 2:

Add Bleed Area (So Nothing Gets Cut Off)

✅ What to Do:

→ Click File

 

→ Setting

 

→ Show Print Bleed.



You’ll see a faint border around your design. [like this] 



→ Extend backgrounds, colors, and images all the way to that edge.

→ Keep text and logos at least 0.25" inside the edge (safe zone).

 

STEP 3:

Use High-Quality (300 DPI) Images

✅ What to Do:

  • Use “Print Quality” photos (at least 300 DPI).

  • Avoid screenshots or small web images — they’ll print blurry.

  • In Canva, zoom in to 300%. If it looks pixelated on screen, it’ll print worse.

 

STEP 4:

Align and Center Everything

✅ What to Do:

→ Use rulers and guides (Shift + R).



→ Center logos, text, and key artwork.



→ Double-check spelling and placement — this is what prints!

 

STEP 5: 
Download With the Right Settings

✅ What to Do:

→ Click Share

 

→ Download



→ File type: PDF Print



→ Check these boxes:

  • ✅ “Crop marks and bleed”

  • ✅ “Flatten PDF” (if available)



→ Color profile: CMYK (for professional printing)



File Name Tip:
Name it clearly: ChanukahPoster-8x10in-300dpi.pdf

 

STEP 6: 
Double-Check Before Sending

✅ Checklist:

  • ☐ File is PDF Print (not JPG or PNG)

  • ☐ Bleed visible in preview

  • ☐ All text inside safe zone

  • ☐ Clear, non-pixelated artwork

  • ☐ Correct size (matches order)

 

STEP 7:
Upload & Confirm

✅ What to Do:

  • Upload your file directly to our site or email it to us.

  • If we spot any issue (size, bleed, resolution), we’ll let you know before printing.
